NEW DELHI: A massive and damaging scandal involving fraudulent educational certificates has been exposed in India, dealing a severe blow to the country’s academic credibility. Kerala Police successfully busted a large, organized network responsible for manufacturing fake university certificates.
According to Arab media reports from New Delhi, the crackdown followed the interrogation of a detained suspect, leading law enforcement agencies to arrest 11 individuals across various Indian states. Investigations reveal that the criminal operation supplied fake educational credentials to over one million people within the country, underscoring the serious magnitude of the deception.
The wide circulation of these fraudulent documents has had significant international repercussions; multiple countries were previously forced to halt the issuance of educational visas to Indian students.
Arab media sources report that major educational destinations, including Canada and the UK, have since initiated rigorous scrutiny of all educational credentials submitted by Indian students. This heightened verification process has created uncertainty for thousands of legitimate and deserving visa applicants.
