Following the successful thwarting of a terrorist attempt at a Cadet College, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has issued a strong statement commending the Armed Forces. He asserted that the prompt and effective operation saved the country from a catastrophe that could have been ten times larger than the devastating 2014 Army Public School (APS) tragedy in Peshawar.
In his statement, the Minister confirmed the safe rescue of 550 students from the college, terming it a “huge success.” He paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, emphasizing that it was a difficult and sensitive operation executed with great skill, ensuring the lives of hundreds of students were protected.
Addressing the persistent wave of terrorism, Tarar reiterated the government’s strong demand that the facilitation of terrorists from Afghan soil must cease immediately. He added that thorough investigations would be conducted into the recent incidents in Islamabad and Wana. Crucially, he announced that concrete evidence regarding those involved in these attacks would be shared with friendly nations and presented at international forums.
The Minister made it clear that “whoever is involved in terrorism will be exposed to the world,” signaling Pakistan’s firm resolve to tackle cross-border security threats through diplomatic and counter-terrorism channels.
