Riyadh / Paris —
French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which the two leaders discussed the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and ongoing efforts to end the war through diplomatic means.
According to international media reports, the conversation also covered bilateral cooperation, regional security, and stability in the Middle East. Both leaders emphasized the need for an immediate end to Palestinian suffering and underscored the importance of protecting civilians amid the continued Israeli military operations.
President Macron and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman agreed on the necessity of a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the implementation of a sustainable ceasefire.
The Saudi leader briefed Macron on the Kingdom’s humanitarian initiatives and regional diplomatic engagements, aimed at restoring calm and facilitating relief efforts in Gaza.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to pursuing a two-state solution as the only viable path toward a just and lasting peace in the region.
Observers say the call reflects a growing alignment between European and Arab leaderships, as both seek to prioritize humanitarian relief and peace over political divisions in the war-torn region.
