Tensions flared along the Line of Control (LoC) early on Friday morning as the Pakistan Army shot down an Indian quadcopter in the Baghsar sector of Samahni, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while Indian forces launched heavy and unprovoked shelling in multiple sectors of the region.
According to security sources, the Indian surveillance drone was targeted and brought down at approximately 3:15am in the Baghsar region.
Civilian killed, injured in Bagh and Hajira
In the early hours of Friday, the Indian Army allegedly launched unprovoked shelling in the village of Chowki Kotetri in Bagh district, resulting in the martyrdom of a 22-year-old civilian, Osama Ishrat, and injuries to his two sisters. Tragically, Osama had been married just 10 days ago, local sources confirmed.
In Hajira town of Poonch district, three civilians were injured due to Indian firing. The Hajira assistant commissioner confirmed that the wounded were swiftly transported to the local hospital for medical treatment. Shelling also reportedly damaged several vehicles and caused panic among residents.
Missiles reportedly fell in parts of Hajira city and shelling continued in the Madarpur and Haveli sectors, though no loss of life or property has been officially confirmed in those areas as of yet. Authorities have issued emergency advisories, urging citizens to remain indoors.
Pakistan Army Responds with Force
In a strong retaliation, the Pakistan Army targeted Indian military installations along the LoC, delivering what security sources described as a “befitting response.” Indian forces shelled and fired at Pandu and Haji Pir sectors on this side of the border, with Pakistani forces reportedly destroying the Indian Army’s Jhanda Ziarat post and battalion headquarters in Nanga Tak.
Security officials claim that the Indian side suffered heavy losses from Pakistan’s precision strikes. Several Indian check posts were also neutralized during retaliatory action in the Haji Pir sector.
“The Pakistan Army is giving a firm and effective response to Indian aggression,” a security source stated, reaffirming the nation’s resolve to protect its sovereignty and civilian lives.
Indian aggression in Neelum Valley for third consecutive day
Tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) escalated further as Indian forces continued unprovoked aggression in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Neelum Valley for the third consecutive day on Friday, targeting civilian populations across multiple sectors with heavy shelling and gunfire.
According to local administration and security sources, the Indian Army suddenly initiated firing and mortar shelling early in the day across Shahkot, Jura, Athmuqam, Dudhniyal, Sharda, Kel, Halmat, and Gurez Valley — all densely populated areas in the picturesque Neelum Valley.
Officials confirmed that Indian forces deliberately targeted civilian settlements in Shahkot, Athmuqam, Sharda, Kel, and Kundal Shahi. The most severe impact was felt in Upper Kel, where a youth was critically injured due to the shelling. Additionally, the NADRA office building in the area sustained heavy damage after being hit by mortar rounds.
In response to the aggression, the Pakistan Army retaliated with full force, returning fire from all affected sectors and effectively silencing several Indian positions. “The Pakistan Army is giving a befitting and timely response to Indian firing,” said a military source.
The cross-border shelling has created panic and fear among residents, prompting emergency declarations at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Athmuqam and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kel, where medical teams have been put on high alert to treat the injured.
Following the intense shelling, authorities imposed a complete blackout in Neelum Valley as a precautionary measure to avoid further civilian casualties. Damage assessments are currently underway, but initial reports suggest extensive infrastructure losses in residential areas.
