Lexi Minetree is candidly discussing the experience of taking on the renowned wardrobe of the fictional character Elle Woods in the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series.
The 24-year-old actress revealed during a public appearance on Monday that the forthcoming TV series Elle features numerous vintage pieces that pay homage to the original Reese Witherspoon film.
“I think right now they have me in a little bit of pink, I’ll tell you that much,” newcomer Minetree shared with People Magazine at the Amazon Upfront red carpet in New York City.
“But they’ve curated amazing pieces. Every outfit the costume designer has selected is genuinely vintage, and it truly serves as a wonderful tribute to that era.”
“I’m so excited for everyone to see it,” she added.
Minetree also spoke about the positive influence that the original actress and the show’s producer, Reese Witherspoon, has had on her.
“There isn’t a better character I could be portraying that’s healthier for my mental well-being,” she shared.
“I’m like, ‘Oh, an optimist who believes in herself, hmm-mm, yeah.’ I think I will approach this role with method acting and simply believe in myself and just say, ‘You know what? I’m bringing Lexi’s interpretation to this role and following in the footsteps of what Reese has already established.'”
“Such an incredible character,” she continued.
Prime Video announced the prequel series in collaboration with Witherspoon’s media company, Hello Sunshine, in May 2024.
