HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A cold front is moving through the area overnight Sunday. Expect less rain for Monday, but temperatures will not warm up much. Many areas may hang in the upper 40s or lower 50s all day. Cloudy, chilly, and wet weather will continue through Thursday. If you are traveling, icy weather could affect central and northern Texas Monday and Tuesday.
Is cold weather back?
Monday through Thursday will feature some cloudy and cold days with rain at times. Temperatures may spend most of the day in the 40s. We will stay above freezing over most of Southeast Texas, but areas as close as College Station could be close to freezing at times.
Is the heavy rain threat gone?
The cold front will push away the heavy rain for Monday and Tuesday. Some light showers and drizzle will likely continue at times. Rain and thunderstorms could increase by Wednesday night or Thursday with a small threat for some flash flooding.
Will Texas see winter weather this week?
Areas of the Hill County north to near Dallas and to the west of there could see sleet and freezing rain Monday and Tuesday. Be careful if you have have plans that direction. It’s possible that a little sleet or ice may get as close to us as College Station of Bastrop on Tuesday.
