Leighton Meester recently opened up about her private wedding to husband Adam Brody. In a chat with Bustle, published on May 28, the Gossip Girl alum disclosed that she never desired a large wedding celebration.
Meester revealed that, initially, she didn’t even want a wedding ceremony, as she was tired of feeling like a production or being a spectacle. “On sets and in life, I’ve been able to wear a fancy dress and hit a mark and say lines, and I didn’t want it to feel like that,” Meester told the outlet.
“I wanted it to feel intimate and private,” she added. Her wish for a private wedding ceremony came true in early 2014.
An insider revealed to People at the time of their intimate ceremony, “She’s very happy. She has a lovely ring. She likes [it] a lot.” Even after 11 years of marriage, the couple has largely kept their wedding details under wraps.
It’s worth noting that Meester and Brody welcomed their first child, daughter Arlo, in 2015, followed by a son in 2020, whose name they have not yet revealed.
