The Layyah police have escalated their operations targeting criminal networks, resulting in the detention of numerous offenders and the retrieval of stolen property valued at over 900 million rupees during February and March.
At a press briefing held at the police headquarters, Layyah District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Ali Waseem shared specifics concerning the actions carried out against the criminals. The DPO stated that police units from the City Police Station, Saddar Police Station, Kot Sultan Police Station, and Pir Jaggi Police Station filed 155 cases and reclaimed stolen items worth 257 million rupees from the criminals.
The recovered items encompassed 57 motorcycles, 25 solar motors, 44 livestock, and 120 million rupees in cash.
A notable achievement was the capture of the inter-district “Asar Gang,” notorious for livestock theft and causing distress among agriculturalists.
The gang’s capture led to the recovery of over 100 million rupees from the sale of stolen livestock, providing relief to affected communities. The restored valuables were returned to their rightful owners, who expressed gratitude for the police’s endeavors.
DPO Muhammad Ali Waseem reaffirmed the police force’s dedication to combating crime, highlighting that the continuous retrieval of stolen assets demonstrates the Layyah police’s commitment. He pledged to persist with unwavering efforts to guarantee the safety and security of the populace.
