KYIV: At least seven explosions were reported over Kyiv on Monday morning, according to AFP journalists, as a nationwide alert was issued warning of Russian aerial attacks.
As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine extends into its third year, a fresh wave of attacks was launched on Monday. Governors of the southern regions of Odesa and Zaporizhzhia, along with Kharkiv in the north, reported explosions and advised residents to seek shelter.
In Lutsk, an apartment building was damaged in the attack, resulting in one fatality, according to Mayor Igor Polishchuk. Additionally, an assault on an industrial facility in Poltava injured five people, reported Governor Filip Pronin.
Ukraine’s energy operator, DTEK, announced that emergency power outages would be implemented in response to the attacks.
