Cancer-stricken King Charles, in a rare candid moment, shared personal details about his ongoing treatment with the New Zealand women’s rugby team during their visit to Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
The King, who announced his shocking cancer diagnosis in February this year, engaged in a heartwarming exchange with the team, revealing a glimpse into his struggles with the illness, just days after Kate Middleton announced she was “cancer-free.”
Explaining his recent decision to exclude New Zealand from his upcoming travel plans, King Charles told the team that he would not be visiting their country, as he is set to travel to Australia next month. “I’m extremely sorry I can’t come to New Zealand in later October—it’s on doctors’ orders,” he said. “But I hope there will be another excuse [to visit] before too long. In the meantime, give my love to New Zealand.”
In a moment of reflection, the King shared a piece of advice with the young players, saying, “I hope you make the most of your time in the team because you don’t stay young for very long. In my experience, it goes quicker than you think.”
