Peshawar, KP – In a bid to provide relief to the public, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced new transport fares following a reduction in fuel prices. According to the Transport Department, a 50% concession has been granted to students and special individuals. Similarly, a 50% concession has been reserved for passengers above 60 years of age.
The new fares for various destinations from Peshawar are as follows:
– Peshawar to Kohat: Rs. 177 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Bannu: Rs. 530 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to DI Khan: Rs. 870 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Haripur: Rs. 424 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Abbottabad: Rs. 530 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Mardan: Rs. 158 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Swat: Rs. 468 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Chitral: Rs. 993 (Flying Coach and Mini Bus)
– Peshawar to Mardan (Motorway): Rs. 316
The Transport Department has also announced a concession for paraplegics and people with disabilities, who face harassment on the roads. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities to expedite the second phase of the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project.
In a recent development, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reduced the grade of a 16th-grade officer to 14th grade, allegedly due to a cigarette packet found in his possession and a missing CCTV video.
In a separate incident, a woman and her son were abducted from a hospital in Lahore, where the woman had taken her son for treatment. The abductors had taken the child from the hospital’s ward.
In other news, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed hospitals in the province to treat patients from other provinces. In a statement, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Ameri said that the US and Israel were once again fueling propaganda against Iran.
