Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Saeed Afridi has strongly criticized the federal government for non-disbursement of Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) funds. Speaking at a provincial cabinet meeting, Saeed Afridi said that the non-disbursement of AIP funds is affecting the progress of developmental projects in merged districts. Chief Minister Saeed Afridi said that the Punjab government is morally bankrupt and its behavior is non-democratic and condemnable. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa owes Rs 4,758 billion to the federal government, and the Ministry of Finance has made attempts to mislead the media through fabricated propaganda regarding funds.
Afridi said that the federal government should provide details of funds allocated to all provinces and make a comparison of outstanding dues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces. He directed the ministries to write letters and seek written replies on outstanding dues, and asked the ministries to brief the provincial cabinet on outstanding dues at the next meeting. Afridi ordered to speed up the pace of developmental projects and said that healthcare and education are the top priorities of the provincial government.
