Khan Academy Pakistan has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Akhuwat, a prominent nonprofit education network in the country, to pilot Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s AI-powered teaching assistant, within Akhuwat’s network of schools.
The agreement was formalised with signatures from Dr. Amjad Saqib, the founder and chairperson of Akhuwat, and Zeeshan Hasan, the CEO of Khan Academy Pakistan. This collaboration signifies a key step in leveraging artificial intelligence to support educators and enhance learning outcomes in classrooms across Pakistan.
Zeeshan Hasan elaborated, “Khanmigo is specifically designed to aid educators in delivering personalised instruction. We are very enthusiastic about partnering with Akhuwat to explore its potential within Pakistan’s educational environment.”
Under the terms of the pilot program, teachers in Akhuwat schools will receive comprehensive training on how to effectively integrate Khanmigo into their daily teaching routines. This will streamline lesson planning and facilitate more impactful instruction. Khan Academy Pakistan will provide ongoing local support, training resources, and performance tracking throughout the duration of the program.
Dr. Amjad Saqib commented, “This partnership underscores our shared dedication to educational innovation. By harnessing the power of AI, we can empower teachers with cutting-edge tools to enrich the learning experience for students.”
Should the pilot program prove successful, it could pave the way for a broader adoption of Khanmigo across other school networks in Pakistan, furthering Khan Academy Pakistan’s overarching mission to make world-class education accessible to everyone.
