Kevin Bacon has been contemplating his portrayal of Hub Halloran, a murderous bounty hunter who escapes from the prison of Hell, in the series ‘The Bondsman’.
During an interview with People, the Hollywood actor was asked if filming the horror-themed show caused him any sleep disturbances.
“It’s interesting. Often, no. But then occasionally, if you’ve been immersed in a certain mindset, it can start to take a toll on you,” the ‘Footloose’ actor responded.
Recalling his most recent dream, he admitted, “It’s funny you mention that because last night my dreams were starting to become quite intense and frightening, and every now and then it just catches up with you.” Bacon added, “I’m generally good at trying to leave my work behind at the office, but what the character is experiencing always has to linger in the back of your mind.”
“Because you’re thinking, ‘What am I shooting tomorrow?’ Okay, we’re going to do this and then,” he continued, “I’m going to be confronting the demon again.’”
Previously, the 66-year-old actor has starred in several horror films, including ‘They/Them’ (2022), ‘You Should Have Left’ (2020), ‘Hollow Man’ (2000), ‘The Darkness’ (2016), and ‘Friday the 13th’ (1980).
Revealing his motivation for taking on horror roles, Kevin Bacon concluded, “But I keep returning to horror, and the reason is that often, it provides you with great opportunities as an actor. Because life and death situations, those things are inherently scary. And life and death are always compelling.”
