Urban, the 56-year-old Australian-American singer, discussed the Disney Legend known for her role as Hannah Montana.
Urban praised Cyrus’s “raspy” voice while covering her song “Flowers,” saying, “I love that voice, man.” He added, “She sounds like an ashtray. And I mean that as a compliment,” and playfully remarked, “She sounds like the carpet at the RSL!”
Urban, who recently celebrated his wife Nicole Kidman’s AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, expressed his long-standing admiration for Miley Cyrus. His comments come after Cyrus, who became the youngest Disney Legend at D23, delivered an emotional speech, dedicating her award to Hannah Montana and her fans.
