Kate Winslet is opening up about her groundbreaking role in the upcoming film *Lee*, where she takes on both acting and producing responsibilities. Widely known for her iconic role in the 1997 film *Titanic*, Winslet spoke candidly about the challenges of being a producer in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy ahead of the film’s release this week.
The actress, who has previously served as an executive producer on shows like *The Regime* and *Mare of Easttown*, explained how producing is “a completely different job.” She stated, “An executive producer might be someone who finds the project and hands it over to someone else, helps finance it, or even lends production space. That role can take many forms.”
Winslet went on to describe the unique challenges of being a producer, saying, “A producer is someone who is involved from the very beginning—managing the nuts and bolts, the details, the cash flow, the crew, the locations… Everything up to delivering the final film. That is a completely different job, and that’s what I did on *Lee* for the first time in my life.”
This revelation comes after the 48-year-old actress, a strong advocate for women’s rights and body positivity in Hollywood, discussed the importance of women embracing a carefree attitude and promoting self-acceptance.
For those unfamiliar, *Lee* is set to be released on September 13, 2024.
