Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has taken a step back from her royal duties due to her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy but has found time to write a heartfelt letter to Kirsty Kerr, whose six-year-old daughter Isla suffers from celiac disease.
Kirsty, deeply moved, broke down in tears after receiving the touching letter just two weeks ago. In her original message, Kirsty explained to the Princess how Isla often struggles with feeling different from her friends due to her strict diet and reduced energy levels.
Princess Kate responded, offering her well-wishes to the family. “Thank you very much for your letter to The Princess of Wales in connection with the Early Years,” the letter began. “I was very sorry to learn about the difficulties that your daughter has experienced, but it was heartening to learn of the progress that Isla has made.”
The Princess praised Kirsty for her “diligence” in caring for her daughter, calling it “truly admirable.” The letter, which was shared by Hello! Magazine, concluded with warm wishes from the Head of Royal Correspondence: “The Princess of Wales would have me send her very best wishes to you and your family.”
The letter comes at a time when Kate herself is facing a challenging period, having stepped back from royal duties to focus on her health following her diagnosis with an undisclosed form of cancer in March. She is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.
