Karachi’s deteriorating traffic congestion and increasing accidents have ignited a debate regarding accountability.
Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho has placed the onus on citizens, asserting that regardless of the traffic police’s efforts, problems will persist if individuals do not comply with traffic regulations.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating a new dental OPD at Jinnah Medical University, Dr. Azra emphasized that accidents are unavoidable when traffic laws are disregarded. She also highlighted that Karachi’s inadequate infrastructure has contributed to the rising number of road incidents.
“No matter how diligently traffic officers work, citizens must also abide by the rules,” she stated.
