In a major operation in Karachi’s Lyari area, Rangers have apprehended a highly wanted suspect linked to the city’s violent past involving crimes based on linguistic differences.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, the arrested suspect, identified as Muhammad Ismail, was found in possession of weapons and ammunition at the time of his arrest.
During initial questioning, the suspect made startling revelations. He has confessed to being involved in numerous crimes driven by linguistic hatred between 2005 and 2008, a period marked by significant unrest in the city.
The spokesperson further added that the suspect has admitted to more than 11 serious incidents, including murder and attempted murder. Furthermore, Muhammad Ismail was also allegedly involved in kidnapping for ransom, shootouts with police, drug dealing, and extortion.
