Karachi, Pakistan – In a significant crackdown on terrorist activities, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has filed charges against Commander Bashir Zeb and his accomplices of the defunct BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army) for attempting to bring explosives into the city.
According to the CTD, a raid was conducted on a house in Rehri Goth, Hab Rehri Road, following secret information about the presence of terrorists. One of the suspects, Jaleel, alias Naveed, was arrested, while others managed to flee the scene.
DG CTD, Azfar Mahesar, confirmed that three terrorists were apprehended in connection with the incident, and their affiliations with Commander Bashir Zeb and his group, BLA Majid Brigade, Fidayeen-e-Al Hind, were established.
The chargesheet revealed that a truck carrying explosives was found in a compound, containing plastic drums and cylinders linked to detonators and dead corpses. Forensic tests confirmed that the explosive material weighed approximately 2,000 kilograms, which was intended to be used for terrorist activities in Karachi.
In other news, Punjab Chief Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has directed the immediate launch of the second phase of the ‘Apni Cheh, Apna Ghar’ project, aimed at resolving the issues of roof collapse and home destruction.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has offered negotiations with the opposition, assuring his leadership of a stable government. Rana Sanaullah, the acting spokesperson for the government, stated that the UN charter binds countries to refrain from using force or issuing threats against other nations.
Due to dense fog, multiple locations across the country have experienced traffic congestion, prompting the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to demote a 16-grade officer to 14-grade after accusing him of smoking and tampering with CCTV footage.
In a separate incident, a woman and her child were allegedly kidnapped by an individual who posed as a doctor, claiming he would treat her son. The kidnapper then escaped with the child.
Maryam Nawaz, a senior leader of the opposition, has stated that the doors of their hearts are open to all, adding that Punjab’s hospitals are providing treatment to patients from other provinces. Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has expressed concerns about the resurgence of a notorious enemy propaganda network.
Iran has accused Israel and the US of inciting elements to create unrest in the country, stating that these elements have admitted to having financial links with foreign agencies.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has reduced diesel prices, leading to the introduction of a new transport fare schedule. The Transport Department, Peshawar, has approved a 50% concession for students and special individuals.
