Police have released a detailed traffic management plan in anticipation of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) X matches, which are scheduled to commence on April 11, 2025.
According to the traffic police, the National Coaching Center and China Ground will serve as designated parking areas for spectators. Both carriageways of Sir Shah Sulaiman Road will remain open to regular traffic.
Traffic originating from the Karsaz area will be diverted onto Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road and subsequently onto Sir Shah Sulaiman Road, the police announced.
Vehicles arriving from Millennium Mall will be directed towards Stadium Road, where parking will be available at the National Coaching Center or China Ground.
Spectators traveling from New Town are advised to park their vehicles at the National Coaching Center/China Ground area after passing Aga Khan Hospital on their left.
Heavy traffic will be prohibited from entering the NIPA and Hassan Square areas, as per the traffic police advisory.
Furthermore, the traffic flow from PP Chowrangi towards University Road and from Karsaz towards Stadium Road will be closed to heavy vehicles, the police added.
Finally, heavy traffic will not be permitted to enter the designated areas from Millennium Mall towards New Town or from Stadium Signal towards Hassan Square.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially initiated online sales for the highly anticipated PSL X tickets last week, with the marquee event set to begin on April 11.
Online ticket sales are currently active, allowing fans to secure their attendance at the tournament.
This year, the six-team event will be hosted across four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The grand final is scheduled to take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 18, with a total of 34 matches to be played over 37 days.
Given the involvement of international players and officials, enhanced security measures are being implemented for this high-profile event, covering not only the matches themselves but also the teams’ travel arrangements and accommodations.
A wing of the Rangers and two companies of the army will be stationed in each host city to assist the local police in maintaining safety and security, particularly during team movements and their stay in hotels.
