Karachi Mayor, Murtaza Wahab, has announced a financial aid of 1 crore rupees for the family of the late Firefighter Fareed, who lost his life in the line of duty. Murtaza Wahab, along with other officials, visited the family’s residence, offered condolences, and expressed his deepest sympathies. The announcement comes as a response to the severe criticisms faced by the Karachi Fire Department’s audit report, which highlighted multiple shortcomings and expressed concerns that similar incidents may occur in the future. According to the report, the audit was conducted to assess the department’s preparedness to tackle potential emergencies.
The Mayor announced that the family of the late Firefighter Fareed would receive a monthly stipend, as well as a job for the wife, and that the education expenses of their children would be borne by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). In a statement, the Mayor praised the late Firefighter Fareed for his bravery, courage, and dedication to his duty. He also announced that the fire station in the city would be named after the late Firefighter Fareed as a tribute to his services.
Meanwhile, the situation in Afghanistan is becoming increasingly dire as the country’s development budget has been slashed from 131 billion Afghanis to a mere 24 billion Afghanis. The new SOPs will be introduced, and the fire safety systems will be strengthened. In a separate development, a report by the Provincial Minister for Health, Dr. Muhammad Ishaq Sohdar, confirmed that another young girl suffering from throat cancer has passed away in Karachi.
In a shocking incident, the daughter of former Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, has been denied permission to leave the country, citing a court case against her. The daughter, Rabia, has claimed that she has been granted permission by the court to travel abroad. The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has declared the adjacent Rampus Plaza building in Karachi as hazardous following the recent fire incident at the Gul Plaza.
