The woman whose body was recovered from the Sea View beach area in Karachi on Wednesday has been identified, police officials confirmed. According to records from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the deceased was 36 years old and a resident of Mujahid Nagar, Sheikhupura.
Police officials said the woman’s connection to Karachi is still unclear — investigators are trying to determine where she was staying and with whom. So far, no family members or acquaintances have come forward to claim the body or contact authorities.
The case has been declared “suspicious,” with police pursuing multiple lines of inquiry. Investigators are analyzing evidence collected from the scene, including phone data and possible CCTV footage, to establish the circumstances leading to the woman’s death.
Earlier reports stated that the body was found floating behind the Sea View Clock Tower. At the time, police believed the body was relatively fresh and estimated the woman’s age to be between 28 and 30 years. She was dressed in pants and a shirt, and initial assessments suggested the body might have drifted to that spot with the current.
The incident has sparked public concern, with calls for a thorough and transparent investigation to uncover whether the woman’s death was accidental or linked to foul play.
