KARACHI—A concerning incident unfolded at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport where a double cabin vehicle belonging to former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar suddenly caught fire while parked within the airport premises.
Sources indicated that the fire, which caused momentary alarm in the high-security zone, was apparently caused by an electrical short circuit. Swift action ensured that all individuals inside the affected vehicle were evacuated safely immediately after the fire erupted, averting any human casualties.
According to police officials, the police personnel present inside the vehicle acted quickly and managed to control the blaze themselves, preventing significant damage before fire services arrived.
The incident occurs amid a backdrop of previous deliberate acts of arson targeting vehicles in the city, such as the recent case where unknown individuals set fire to a lawyer’s car. However, authorities have classified this particular event as accidental, attributing it to a short circuit
