The head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has made an interesting comment regarding the absence of protocol for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Saeed Afridi in Punjab. While speaking to the media after paying condolences for Maulana Javed Nauman’s death in the town of Ser Gudha, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that, regardless of the current situation, the JUI would certainly appear in the scene.
In response to a question, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that it is only natural for the opposition party JUI-F to question the alliance between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the PML-N, as they are merely clinging to each other. A journalist inquired about the alleged comment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister that he was not provided with protocol in Punjab. In response, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said, “The people of one city are cruel, and we love it, but the people of another city are also cruel, and we die of love for them.”
The JUI chief emphasized that the government must conduct local body elections as per the constitution. He also mentioned that the Jamiat-e-Islami did not receive any contact from the government regarding the party’s referendum. He stated that the only path to prosperity is to increase the country’s productive capacity.
Number plates bearing the names of important personalities, including President Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and the founder of PTI, will be auctioned. Maulana Fazlur Rehman further stated that they were given permission to hold a rally, but despite this, they were forced to retreat. He emphasized that the government must take responsibility for the mysterious deaths of animals in Lahore’s Green Town area.
Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have decided to simplify immigration procedures between the two countries by introducing a “pre-immigration clearance.” A formal agreement is expected to be announced soon. The General Secretary of the opposition alliance, Tahreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan (TTP), and PTI Central Leader Asad Qaiser stated that the opposition is prepared for a long struggle and will not back down from the fundamental right to protest.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan stated that the TTP is a terrorist organization. Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Talal Chaudhry said that the members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly should address their concerns to their Chief Minister rather than writing letters to the federal government. He emphasized that the government must acknowledge that high taxes and energy prices are real issues.
