Intezar Hussain Panjutha, the lawyer for PTI founder Imran Khan, was reported missing on October 8 but was found last night by Punjab police, according to reports in the early hours of Sunday.
The party called the development staged and demanded that a first information report (FIR) be filed against Pakistan’s Attorney General, Mansoor Usman Awan. Awan told the high court that Panjutha would be brought to court within 24 hours, implying that he knew where he was.
The PTI leader was allegedly being transported when he was found by police in Attock. He was later moved to the hospital by the police.
PTI shared a lot of video of him sitting in a car while he was tied up on social media, showing the lawyer clearly shaken.
The spokesperson for the District Police Office in Attock said in a statement that the police had freed Panjutha, who had been kidnapped for a ransom.
According to the police department, “vloggers” were creating “negative propaganda” by claiming that Imran’s lawyer did not use his full name when asked to identify himself by an officer.
The vloggers claimed that the official in the video took Panjutha’s full name, calling it “drama.”
