Singer-songwriter Joe Jonas recently touched fans’ hearts by sharing the one song that his band will always perform. Jonas shared this during a candid interview with Kelly Clarkson on her show, Songs & Stories.
During the conversation, the Jonas brothers sat down with the American Idol alum to discuss which of their songs holds the most meaning for them. They mentioned several tracks, including “Year 3000,” “When You Look Me in the Eyes,” “Little Bird,” and “Love Me to Heaven.”
However, when the brothers brought up “When You Look Me in the Eyes,” Joe became emotional, admitting, “It’s a song we wrote with our dad and we wrote it many years ago.”
“I remember recording it in the basement in an office building in New Jersey and we had to be really quiet when we walked through the hallways,” he recalled.
For Joe and his brothers, the song holds a special significance. “It was really special to be able to create this song with our dad,” he shared. “And years later still play it and all these fans come to our shows and sing it.”
He concluded by adding, “Honestly it’s one of the earlier songs we can think of that kind of reflects, I guess, young love, finding out who we are as people, traveling the world and this one we’ll play forever. It’s one of our favorites.”
