Devastating wildfires in Los Angeles consumed numerous residences, including the home of singer Jhené Aiko. Upon her return, the artist shared the extent of the destruction online.
In an Instagram post, the “Sativa” singer uploaded a series of photographs illustrating the damage.
“finally saw it for myself…3 months later.” The subsequent slide conveyed a deeper emotion, as she wrote, “sometimes a sigh is not enough…you gotta scream ‘————-!!!’ at the top of your lungs.”
Following the depiction of the devastation, Jhené extended words of empathy to those impacted by the wildfires.
“Idk who needs to hear this, but you absolutely MUST cry about it…as often as the feeling comes,” the 37-year-old artist penned.
Jhené initially revealed the loss of her home in the wildfires on January 9th through a social media post. At the time, she wrote, “burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy 🙏 Thankful we still have eachother starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”
The wildfires have been tragically recognized as the second-deadliest in California’s history, resulting in the loss of 30 lives.
