Jennifer Lopez is reportedly experiencing a sense of relief after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck, despite initially hesitating to end their two-year marriage.
“It’s been incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to pull away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind,” a source told People magazine.
“She didn’t want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It’s been almost torture for her to wait around.”
Since filing for divorce from the Hypnotic star last week in Los Angeles, Lopez seems to be finding comfort in the decision, according to the insider. “Her family and friends agree that it was the right decision,” the source said, noting that the singer is “surrounded by a lot of love and support” and will “be fine” as she is “strong and always comes out on top.”
Lopez has kept a low profile since announcing the split on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding, filing for divorce without legal representation and citing April 26 as the separation date. Meanwhile, Affleck, 52, has been seen around Los Angeles, including a cheerful sighting while picking up food at his Brentwood rental home. Sources also indicate that the Batman star has been spending time with Kick Kennedy, marking a new chapter in his post-split life.
