Jennifer Aniston, the 52-year-old actress widely celebrated for her role as Rachel Green in the iconic sitcom Friends and a Hollywood fixture for decades, has revealed her next career ambition: the Broadway stage.
“I definitely want to do a Broadway play, that’s on my bucket list but it’s finding the time and finding the right piece, the right material,” she told PEOPLE magazine.
The Murder Mystery star emphatically stated, “But I absolutely have to do a play on Broadway.”
If Aniston pursues this dream, she will become the second Friends cast member to grace Broadway, following David Schwimmer, who appeared in the 2006 play, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial.
Other prominent A-list celebrities who have recently transitioned to Broadway include George Clooney, who earned a Tony nomination for his role in Good Night and Good Luck, and Succession star Sarah Snook, who was honored as Best Actress for her performance in The Picture of Dorian Gray.
This announcement comes after Aniston recently opened up about her journey to self-acceptance, finding contentment with her appearance and body.
“We’ve got to love our bodies. It’s doing the best it can. It’s been with us since the day we started, so we can’t be too hard on it,” she shared with Allure.
The Just Go With It actress added, “Of course, we’re all going to grow older, but how can we thrive as we grow older? And that is about giving your body the attention that it deserves.”
Jennifer Aniston concluded, “For me personally, I loved my 30s, but my 20s were nothing. I was a nightmare. I didn’t understand working out until my 30s and 40s.”
