Jason Segel has praised his co-star Harrison Ford for his comedic abilities. The “How I Met Your Mother” actor believes that Ford, who is widely known for his roles in action franchises like “Indiana Jones” and “Star Wars,” never had a chance to fully showcase his comedic side before their Apple TV+ series, “Shrinking.”
In an interview with Variety, Segel recalled a specific episode of “Shrinking” where Ford’s character, Paul, arrives at a party under the influence of cannabis edibles. “I don’t think anybody knew that Harrison could do that,” Segel said. He continued, “There was a moment during that episode when he got a giant laugh from the crew, and he walked by me and he whispered in my ear, ‘I knew I was f**king funny.'”
Segel explained that he has never forgotten that moment because “it affirmed this idea that I had, that we all have these parts of ourselves that we believe are unknown to others, and we want them to be known.” The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” actor concluded by saying that comedy was “this little corner of the room that Harrison hadn’t gotten to show yet.” “Shrinking” first aired in 2023, with Harrison Ford playing Paul, a senior therapist with Parkinson’s disease, and Jason Segel portraying Jimmy, a therapist grieving the loss of his wife.
