James Gunn has finally addressed and corrected the actual runtime for his Superman film.
This clarification occurred on Instagram Threads when a fan inquired about the Superman film’s duration and its accuracy.
Gunn’s response on the app was, “Inclusive of credits/post credits the runtime is 2 hours 9 minutes.”
He also addressed a second query concerning rumors that Warner Bros. intended for him to shorten the film.
According to Variety, he clarified that there is “zero truth in that” regarding such rumors.
He further added, “And they couldn’t even if that’s something that they wanted to [do]. It’s a DC Studios film.”
It is important to note that Gunn also holds director credits for this Superman film, marking his first return behind the camera in over a decade.
Other notable achievements from his past work include writing credits for the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as its Volume 2 version released in 2017, 2023’s Volume 3, Suicide Squad, Lollipop Chainsaw, and others.
