Jack Antonoff recently joined Taylor Swift in celebrating her significant achievement of regaining ownership of her music catalog. This comes after the pop superstar penned a letter to her fanbase, announcing that she had successfully purchased her original master recordings from Shamrock Capital, six years after her catalog was initially sold to her now former manager, Scooter Braun.
The 41-year-old long-time collaborator of The Eras Tour headliner re-enacted a well-known moment from their track “Getaway Car,” featured on the Reputation album. Swift’s collaboration with Antonoff on this album marked a pivotal transition in her sound, shifting towards synth-pop from her earlier roots in country and retro-pop music genres.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the “Blank Space” crooner was seen lip-syncing to the lyrics of “Getaway Car” while holding her Scottish Fold cat, Meredith. Antonoff also makes an appearance, singing along to the lyric “I’m in a getaway car,” before Swift gently places her cat down and enthusiastically shouts the lyrics, “That was the last time you ever saw me” alongside her fellow musician.
Both talented artists opted for casual attire; the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker wore a grey sweatshirt, while the music producer sported a varsity-style black merchandise jacket from his solo project, Bleachers. For context, the original video gained widespread popularity by offering fans a glimpse into Swift’s collaborative working relationship with Antonoff as a producer on an album. Additionally, he had previously co-produced two tracks on Taylor Swift’s 1989 album, “I Wish You Would” and “You Are In Love,” before contributing to Reputation.
