Renowned Pakistani actor Mohib Mirza has challenged social stereotypes by strongly advocating for men to share equal responsibility in both childcare and domestic household chores.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the actor opened up about his experience becoming a father for the second time and the changes in his life following the birth of his son.
“Raising and caring for children is not just the mother’s responsibility; it is a duty that both parents must share,” Mirza stated.
He specifically questioned a common aversion among men regarding childcare. “I don’t understand why fathers often feel disgusted changing diapers. I used to change my daughter’s (Meisa) diapers, and now I change my son’s (Wali) myself.”
Mirza advised men that just as a mother tends to a child’s needs, it is equally the father’s duty to take on these responsibilities.
He also shared insights into his personal life, highlighting his contribution to domestic work. “I help Sanam (Saeed) with the housework… I wash the dishes, a habit I inherited from my father. He always washed his own plate, which taught me that everyone should contribute equally.”
