Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Hamas leader Mohammad Sinwar was martyred in an Israeli airstrike.
According to international media reports, Netanyahu informed the Israeli parliament (the Knesset) that Sinwar was targeted in an Israeli attack on a hospital in southern Gaza earlier this month. On May 21, he had indicated that Sinwar had likely been killed.
Netanyahu stated: “We have eliminated Mohammed Deif, Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, and Mohammed Sinwar.”
The Israeli prime minister added that Israel is now taking control of aid distribution in Gaza.
It is worth noting that Mohammad Sinwar was appointed Hamas’s Gaza chief following the reported death of Yahya Sinwar.
Meanwhile, Hamas has yet to confirm the death of Mohammad Sinwar.
