Tel Aviv: Israel’s military Chief of Staff has unequivocally announced that the war against Hamas will not end, maintaining a hardline stance despite an existing ceasefire agreement.
Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir declared that the war in Gaza will not conclude until “the body of the last hostage is returned.” This stark statement casts a shadow over ongoing peace efforts.
Addressing soldiers, General Zamir insisted that the “war is not yet over.” He stressed that the military must “complete our mission,” which he defined as securing the return of all hostages and continuing the campaign against Hamas.
In his remarks, the army chief added that the military is looking to the future but is “carrying the burden of the past on its shoulders.” He described learning from experience as a “moral and professional duty” that the army would undertake with courage.
