Israel has initiated a renewed series of airstrikes deep within Iranian territory, reportedly targeting strategic military infrastructure in the northwestern city of Tabriz and the southern city of Shiraz, according to Iranian media outlets.
Tasnim News Agency indicated that the city of Tabriz was struck late on Friday, with initial assessments suggesting that an airport and adjacent air bases were among the locations hit. Concurrently, reports emerged of an Israeli Air Force strike on a missile production facility in Shiraz.
These latest attacks signify a considerable escalation in an already volatile situation, following Israel’s previous strikes on Tehran which resulted in the deaths of senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists.
While Iranian authorities have yet to issue a comprehensive statement, local emergency services have been mobilized, and flights operating to and from Tabriz International Airport have reportedly been suspended.
