The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Saeed Afridi in a case related to defamatory allegations against state institutions and causing harm to their reputation. The court heard the case with Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah presiding over it. CM Saeed Afridi claimed that he is willing to discuss provincial issues with the establishment and improve their relations for better governance.
The court directed CM Saeed Afridi to be arrested and presented in court, and the case has been adjourned until January 17. A case has been registered against CM Saeed Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
CM Saeed Afridi further stated that the country is facing a governance crisis in all four provinces. According to the police, a wedding ceremony was being held at the CM’s residence, and the deceased and injured individuals had come from Peshawar and Khyber to attend the ceremony.
