The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has postponed the hearing concerning the appeal for the suspension of the sentence of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case until after the Eid holidays.
A two-member bench, consisting of Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, was presiding over the hearing.
However, due to the absence of the lead defense counsel, advocate Shuaib Shaheen, a request was made to the court to reschedule the hearing for a later date, as the primary lawyer was traveling from the Supreme Court.
Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar responded by stating that the case would be rescheduled following Eid.
Simultaneously, advocates Shoaib Shaheen and Salman Akram Raja argued that the court had instructed jail authorities to permit meetings with the PTI founder, but prison officials had declined to accept the visitor list submitted the previous day.
The IHC Chief Justice assured that the written order regarding the meetings had already been drafted by a bench member and would be signed upon its arrival.
