By: Raja Zahid Akhtar Khanzada
Karachi/ Dallas : In the literary and cultural history of Pakistan, Naat poetry has always held a prominent and revered status, where poets express their emotions, devotion, and love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through words. Continuing this tradition, the renowned Pakistani journalist, writer, and poet Alauddin Hamdam Khanzada introduced his collection of Naat and Hamdpoetry, “Ishq Aqeedah,” in a prestigious ceremony held at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi on Saturday evening.
This event was not just a book launch; it was an assembly immersed in the love of the Prophet ﷺ, where the spiritual essence of Naat illuminated the hearts of the attendees.
Prominent figures from literary, journalistic, and cultural circles participated in the gathering, where in-depth discussions were held on the significance, impact, and artistic beauty of Naat poetry. The event was presided over by the distinguished literary personality Professor Sahar Ansari, while Shakeel Khanperformed the duties of hosting.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the soulful rendition of a Naat included in “Ishq Aqeedah”, performed by Rehana Ahsan. Her melodious voice filled the atmosphere with a sacred aura.
In his address, the event’s president Professor Sahar Ansari praised Alauddin Hamdam Khanzada for his journalistic and literary contributions. He remarked:
“Alauddin Hamdam Khanzada is a senior journalist, known in the literary world by his pen name ‘Hamdam.’ The fundamental difference between a regular writer and a journalist is that while journalists publish daily, excelling in creative literature simultaneously is a remarkable talent. Khanzada has experimented with various poetic genres, but the sincerity and love evident in his Naat poetry give him a unique standing.”
He further elaborated that Naat is an essential part of every believer’s life, as even the recitation of Darood Sharif is, in essence, a form of Naat. Regarding “Ishq Aqeedah,” he stated:
“This book does not merely present Naat poetry in a poetic form, but rather, Khanzada has adorned his profound spiritual emotions with the elegance of words.”
During his speech, he also recited selected verses from the book, which were greatly appreciated by the audience.
Speaking at the ceremony, Alauddin Hamdam Khanzada expressed his emotions and considered the publication of this book a significant milestone in his life. He said:
“It is a special blessing from Allah that I have been granted the honor of praising the Holy Prophet ﷺ. This is a journey of love and devotion, filled with light and spiritual ecstasy at every moment.”
On this occasion, he also presented a Naat from his book, which deeply moved the audience.
Other esteemed speakers at the event also paid tribute to “Ishq Aqeedah” and Alauddin Hamdam Khanzada’s literary services.
Ahmed Shah (President, Arts Council of Pakistan) remarked:
“Ishq Aqeedah” is not just a collection of Naats but also a reflection of a way of life. The honesty and devotion in Khanzada’s poetry touch the reader’s heart.”
Fazil Jamili (President, Karachi Press Club) shared his thoughts:
“I have known Khanzada for many years. This was the first time Karachi Press Club was led by two poets. His Naat poetry signifies that his creative journey has always been deeply rooted in spiritual emotions.”
Renowned poet and critic Khalid Moeen discussed the etiquette of Naat poetry:
“In the past, a movement was launched in Karachi to promote Naat poetry, with special emphasis on the careful selection of words. Khanzada’s poetry reflects a purity of language and simplicity of expression, which are the hallmarks of a successful Naat poet.”
Dr. Ayub Sheikh, Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Usman Jami, and Khalila Farooqi also shared their thoughts and congratulated Khanzada on his remarkable achievement.
This book is not just a collection of Naat poetry but a manifestation of the love for the Prophet ﷺ, offering the reader a deeply spiritual experience. Khanzada’s poetry embodies both the depth of devotion and artistic brilliance. “Ishq Aqeedah” is a unique endeavor in Naat poetry, where love, sincerity, passion, and artistic excellence come together to form a beautiful symphony.
The event at the Arts Council was more than just a book launch; it was a spiritual celebration that beautifully combined love, devotion, and literature. The audience highly appreciated the book and expressed hope that it would secure a special place not only in the literary world but also in the hearts of all lovers of the Prophet ﷺ.
Alauddin Hamdam Khanzada’s work is a perfect blend of literature, devotion, and love, destined to reach every heart where the light of Ishq-e-Rasool ﷺ shines.
“Ishq Aqeedah”— This is not just a book; it is a beacon of light in the world of hearts, and generations to come will continue to benefit from this illumination.
