Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States and Israel of actively attempting to create divisions among Muslim countries, contrasting their actions with Iran’s stated efforts to advance regional peace and unity.
During a phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday, President Pezeshkian stated, “We firmly believe that the United States and the Zionist regime are striving to sow discord among Muslim nations, while Iran is pursuing regional unity and peace.”
A formal statement from the Iranian president’s office conveyed these remarks, emphasizing that Washington and Tel Aviv’s strategies are designed to obstruct regional cooperation on critical issues such as Palestinian rights, regional stability, and freedom from foreign interference.
This call between the two leaders followed a 12-day Israeli military offensive against Iran, backed by the United States, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of over 600 Iranians, including senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
President Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran would continue to assert its rightful entitlements in all future diplomatic engagements.
The conversation is viewed as part of Iran’s broader diplomatic outreach aimed at strengthening ties with regional powers amidst escalating tensions with the US and Israel.
