Iran has reaffirmed its position on the controversial nuclear program, asserting that the country remains fully committed to diplomacy and purposeful negotiations. However, Tehran launched a strong critique of the negotiating approach adopted by the United States.
Speaking to the media in the capital, Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran supports “transparent and dignified negotiations” founded on fairness and equality between all involved parties.
The Foreign Minister, however, claimed that the United States is not prepared for fair and equal nuclear talks. Abbas Araghchi alleged that recent US diplomatic efforts were not aimed at securing mutual benefits, but rather that Washington has only sought to impose its own demands.
He made it clear that given these unreasonable US demands, the opportunities for meaningful negotiations appear slim. The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s steadfast position: “Iran was, is, and will be ready for negotiations, but we will not follow the commands of any country and will not compromise on our national sovereignty.”
