Iran’s ongoing protests against inflation have shown signs of dwindling intensity, with demonstrators’ demands gaining support from the country’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei stated that Iran will not yield to its enemies and that the fluctuations in the currency are the result of foreign interference.
In a related development, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed, wrote to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, stating that US President Donald Trump’s statement was against the UN charter and international law. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi responded by stating that Iranian forces are on high alert and that the Iranian people will not tolerate foreign interference in domestic affairs.

Meanwhile, the US has warned that it will not tolerate any form of interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs. The US has also threatened to impose further sanctions on Venezuela, citing human rights abuses and corruption.
