Lahore — On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz delivered a special message emphasizing that Pakistan can only be transformed into a true welfare and moderate state by adhering to his revolutionary ideas.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to the intellectual greatness of Allama Iqbal, stating that his poetry not only instilled the consciousness of freedom among the Muslims of the subcontinent but also played a crucial role in defining the nation’s direction. She noted that his philosophy kept the movement of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, moving towards its destination.
Highlighting the significance of Iqbal’s message for the youth, she said that he imparted lessons in fundamental principles such as self-respect (Khudi), high values, justice, candor, and democracy.
Maryam Nawaz asserted that practicing the philosophy of Khudi is the best way to express love and tribute to Allama Iqbal. She added that every vibrant and dynamic nation conducts its self-accountability, and on this day, the nation must reaffirm its commitment to use Iqbal’s thoughts as a guiding light.
She concluded that the only way to pay true homage to Allama Iqbal is through the practical implementation of his teachings, stating that understanding Allama Iqbal’s concept of Pakistan is the most crucial need of the hour.
