Indian state of Gujarat witnessed a heinous crime where a 17-year-old girl allegedly killed her father at the behest of her boyfriend. According to Indian media reports, the girl administered her father with sleep-inducing pills and then her boyfriend and his friend entered the room and stabbed the father multiple times with a knife, while the girl watched the scene from the window. The victim’s identity has been confirmed as Shana Chavda, who was opposed to her daughter’s relationship.
The girl and her 24-year-old boyfriend, Ranjeet Gajender, had fled their home in July this year, following which the father had filed a case against Ranjeet. In the United States, a 28-year-old Indian-American youth allegedly killed his 67-year-old father by beating him to death. The accused, Abhijeet Patel, has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder.
Ranjeet was arrested in July, but was released on bail in August. According to Indian media reports, the girl and her boyfriend had been planning to kill her father for the past three months. On December 16, the girl attempted to give her parents sedatives, but failed. On the night of December 18, the girl administered her father with sleep-inducing pills, and when he became unconscious, Ranjeet and his friend entered the room and stabbed him multiple times with a knife.
The police officials stated that the girl watched the scene from the window to ensure that there was no obstacle for her and her boyfriend. The police have arrested Ranjeet and his friend, while the underage girl has been sent to a child protection home.
