The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing and local police collaborated to crack down on a significant narcotics network in the city, resulting in the arrest of four suspects, including a 21-year-old woman, her boyfriend, and two other individuals. According to Indian media reports, the police recovered a substantial quantity of narcotics, cash, and mobile phones from the suspects’ possession.
The arrested woman, identified as Sushmitha Devi, is a software professional, while the other suspects include Amide Emmanuel, G Sai Kumar, and Taraka Lakshmi Kant. Amide, reportedly the boyfriend of the woman, is considered the main suspect in the case and is believed to have been involved in the narcotics trade with her.
During the raid, the police seized a large quantity of narcotics worth millions of rupees, including various types of substances. Investigations revealed that Amide used the dark web to order narcotics and employed a Tor browser for the purpose. Payments were made through cryptocurrency wallets, such as Binance and Trust Wallet, to conceal financial transactions.
The woman is alleged to have monitored the narcotics trade and financial transactions, handling online transactions and overseeing the distribution of narcotics in Amide’s absence. Charges have been filed against the four suspects under various sections, and the police have seized footage from a web camera installed in the vehicle, which includes audio and video recordings.
