A wave of tension and unrest swept through the coastal cities of Goa, India, after multiple digital signboards in prominent locations displayed unexpected “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) slogans late at night. Videos of these slogans quickly went viral on social media, triggering deep concern among local authorities and the public.
According to foreign media reports, these provocative incidents occurred at two different locations—Baga and Arpora in North Goa’s tourist belt—on Tuesday night. The first incident was reported at 9:50 PM, and the second followed shortly after at 10:18 PM, where the LED signboards of local shops were seemingly manipulated or hacked to display the slogans.
Viewing the incident as a potential breach of law and order and an act of provocation, the police immediately launched an investigation. Latest reports confirm that the police acted swiftly, detaining nine individuals in connection with the matter and registering a formal case against them.
This incident has touched upon a sensitive nerve in India’s political and social landscape. Security officials are currently investigating whether the slogans were the result of technical interference (hacking) or were deliberately projected as part of a wider scheme. Local administration has intensified security measures in the cities to prevent any further escalation of tensions.
