The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its heaviest communication satellite, marking a significant new milestone for the nation’s space program.
The satellite was sent into orbit from the Sriharikota spaceport located in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. According to officials, the satellite weighs approximately 4,410 kilograms, making it the most massive communication satellite launched by India to date.
This advanced satellite is set to enhance connectivity across the country. It will provide coverage for the entire Indian mainland as well as the surrounding vast maritime regions, significantly boosting the nation’s communication infrastructure.
