NEW DELHI: India has successfully placed its heaviest-ever communication satellite into orbit, marking a significant advancement in its space technology capabilities.
According to international news agencies, the satellite, identified as CMS-03, has a weight of approximately 4,410 kilograms. It was launched from the Sriharikota spaceport located in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.
The new satellite is designed to provide comprehensive communication coverage across the entire Indian mainland as well as the surrounding vast maritime regions. This launch is expected to significantly boost the nation’s connectivity and broadcasting infrastructure.
