The recent increase in informal, behind-the-scenes glimpses of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children has generated significant curiosity among critics and commentators.
So much so, that politician Nadine Dorries has offered her observations and a potential explanation for this shift.
In her article for the Daily Mail, she began by immediately posing the question, “So, after years of keeping Archie and Lilibet out of the public eye – apart from the release of sanctioned images – why are they suddenly appearing now?”
She then questioned, “Is it because their presence might be perceived as helping Meghan’s aspirational lifestyle brand, As Ever, get sold, given that it is based on the idea of domestic perfection and joyful family life, as she projects the quintessential Californian image of motherhood and apple pie?”
Following this, she turned her attention to Prince Harry, often seen as the parent resistant to overexposing his children, stating, “I understand that Harry was adamant that his children’s lives would be free from public scrutiny – which is unavoidable for their cousins George, Charlotte, and Louis back in the UK.”
She then wondered why “suddenly we have sweet videos of the children posted on Meghan’s Instagram account,” suggesting it is because it’s “a surefire way of securing headlines in newspapers and media sites worldwide.”
Ultimately, Ms. Dorries concluded by saying, “I can’t honestly believe that Harry will be entirely happy with his children being seen on social media in this way.”
